[Patreon] 2024 Spring Patreon Campaign Banner Contest!

Hi everyone,

Spring is here! Time to come out of winter hibernation and welcome the warming weather. In Japan and many parts of Asia, spring is the time for hanami (lit. flower viewing), where friends and family take in the sights of the annual spring sakura or cherry blossom bloom.

Thank you again to all of our Patreon supporters for keeping us alive. As mentioned during the 2023 Summer campaign, this Spring we will be refilling the AniDB bank account with a new fundraising Patreon post.

The Contest

Users have the chance to contribute their creativity to the Patron post banner! See the submissions of our 2023 Summer contest here: https://anidb.net/forum/thread/797414

For this contest, submit a spring themed AniDB anime banner! The winning banner will be featured as our 2024 Spring Patreon fundraising post banner. The banner should tie in spring themes with both anime and AniDB.

What does a 'spring theme' entail?

The theme centres around spring activities! Both general and Japan-specific spring activities are welcome.

Some illustrative examples include:
1. Melting snow
2. Trees and flowers in bloom
3. Animals and brids coming out of hibernation
4. Hanami / sakura viewing
5. Spring festivals
Etc. This list is non-exhaustive.

The Prize

  1. The winner will have their banner and username (unless you choose to remain anonymous) featured publicly on our upcoming 2024 Spring Patreon fundraising post.
  2. The winner will also receive a Creative Content badge on their userpage.

The Rules

  1. Anyone can participate, both Patrons and regular users.
  2. The submission period will be open from 2024-Mar-24 Sunday to 2024-Apr-12 Friday.
  3. To enter your submission, simply reply to this AniDB forum thread with your picture.
    1. Upload your image to one of the whitelisted image hosts. imgur.com is preferred. Whitelisted hosts: abload.de, tinypic.com, flickr.com, imgsafe.org, imgur.com, ipfs.pics, photobucket.com, picload.org, postimage.org, puu.sh
    2. Embed your image in your reply using the image tags.
    3. If you wish to make an anonymous submission, send an AniDB forum PM to CDB-Man instead.
  4. The voting period will be from 2024-Apr-13 Saturday to 2024-Apr-21 Sunday. You may vote on as many images as you like.
  5. If we suspect vote stuffing, then the staff will take this into consideration when looking at the results, and discard entries if needed.
  6. In the unlikely event of a tie, a runoff vote will be held from 2024-Apr-22 Monday to 2024-Apr-28 Sunday for all images coming first place in the original vote. Each user will only get 1 vote in the runoff.
  7. In the even-more unlikely event of a tie in the runoff vote, the AniDB staff will decide the winner.

Image Requirements

  1. Submit an AniDB anime image that will be used as the banner on our upcoming Patreon fundraising post. The banner should tie in this contest's theme (as described above) with both anime and AniDB.
  2. You are allowed to use the AniDB logo in your image, and it is encouraged!
  3. Original content is preferred, remixed content is acceptable.
  4. Since the images will be posted on our public Patreon page, all images must be family-friendly, for all ages.
    1. 18+ / adult images will not be accepted.
    2. For borderline / ecchi images, the staff (mainly CDB-Man) will have sole discretion to accept or reject the submission. Note: we will lean on the more conservative side.
  5. You are allowed to sign your image with your name (and optionally, your AniDB user ID). Please have the signature in the bottom-right corner.
  6. All images should be submitted in PNG format to comply with Patreon's requirements.
  7. For a Patreon post, a 16:9 ratio image would fit best.
  8. Images should be high resolution, 1920 x 1080 at minimum.
  9. We reserve the right to disqualify images that don't meet minimum quality standards.

I'd also like to ask everyone to name the characters and anime contained in your submission. It helps a lot to identify who they are!

Good Luck and Have Fun!

We are looking forward to your participation. Let the artistic creativity of our anime fans run wild!

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

bodysuitA bodysuit is a one-piece outfit that fits the body tightly. The most famous anime bodysuits are doubtlessly the Evangelion plugsuits. Space suits are not bodysuits, because they are not tight, but one-piece wetsuits or swimwear are. They do not have to cover the legs, as bodysuits do not need to cover the entire body. They are not to be confused with an entirely different piece of clothing that covers the torso and crotch and which is also named bodysuit, but is an undergarment, not an outfit., brown eyesThe character has brown eyes., brown hairThe character has brown hair., fair skinFair skin is a naturally occurring range of skin colour that is lighter than the average for humans, but not light enough to be considered white.
